The Welsh Marathon 13th July 2014

The Road to 100 Marathons

The Welsh Marathon 13th July 2014 Number Eighteen

I decided to do this race as it would mean I have done the main three marathons in England, Scotland and Wales. This is a nice hilly Marathon with a great atmosphere as it is a weekend of events and know as The Long Weekend with a swim on the Friday, Cycle on Saturday and Half or Full Marathon on the Sunday for those training for an Iron Man.

Travelled down on the Saturday for the Sunday Morning start and a nice sunny day, the Race takes you out to Pembroke with the main hill at the 2 mile point but the good news is you run down it at 24. When you get to Pembroke those doing the half are just getting ready so there is a few cheering you on and then the fast half runners pass you later on. It got hotter as the race went on but had a good race and came in at 3:36:04 so not bad for a hilly course.
