Bath Off Road 27th July 2014

The Road to 100 Marathons

Bath Off Road 27th July 2014 Number Nineteen

Another local Marathon and one of the hardest course I have done, it starts at the Bath University with their excellent sports facilities. Organised by Relish Running and is known as the Bath Running Festival.

It has a 10k, the longest half (15 miles) and a Marathon (27 miles). The course takes you on a loop around the top through the woods and then drops down into Bath to the Canal. This time there was Paul, Darren Atyeo and I for the Marathon.

The front runners set off and went slightly wrong and ran down a hill in the woods and released it was the wrong direction and ran back up, some moaning and others laughing, we only went a bit down so did not really affect us.

Once down the hill to the Bath Canal it was a flat few miles along it till the first hill, then it is flattish for a bit until another hill which is very hilly and off road but at least it was a hot day so good under foot. You then finished the first loop by running back along the canal round the Marshall and then turn around with your wrist band and do the loop again. The last two miles are back in Bath going up to the Uni and the finish Flag.

A hard off road course and a time of 4:41:07.
