The Road to 100 Marathons 

54321 Marathon 10th Aug 2014 Number Twenty

This is run by the Fire Service at Salisbury for the Fire Service Charity. Just 40 mins up the road so a good local Marathon. It has all the normal races on offer from 10k up to 50k. Yeovil Town Road Running Club has a Hat award with a mini, slam and super slam hats.

The Super Slam hat is awarded to anyone form the Club who completes the following races. 5k, 10k, 10 miler, Half Marathon, Full Marathon and an Ultra. So there were loads of the Club doing the Ultra and just a couple doing the Marathon, I had already done Dartmoor Discovery so did not need the Ultra hence I did the Marathon. 

Race HQ is in the Fire Station with the parking, Start and Finish opposite the Fire Station. The Ultra went off first at 9:00am followed by the Marathon at 10. It is called 54321 because you go over or pass 5 Rivers, 4 Hills, 3 Country Estates, 2 Castles and 1 Cathedral.

The route takes in some nice views on the way round and I was starting to see the same faces at all the Marathons I was doing.

Started the race in the rain and then it got a bit hot on the way round, still a great course and the aid stations are good as well. Finished in a time of 3:55:06.
